The days so simple back then,
I must have been about ten.
When I felt alive and free
No one to worry about, only me.
I could play all day and it wasn't a crime
Except for when I was called in for dinner time.
Now I look back and I miss those days,
My childhood, my simple ways.
I can stay out past ten and do as I please,
Go wherever I want, I just grab my car keys.
Freedom comes with each passing age
But oh how I miss that stress-free stage!
I'm somewhat wiser now, I see the world with different eyes,
I'm still a child at heart,
I can't believe how time flies.
