Through the Hollow
A Journey Through the Shadows to Find Light, Strength, and the Will to Keep Going

In the hush of a world that forgot how to care,
I lay wrapped in shadows too heavy to bear.
The silence screamed loud through the cracks in my mind,
Where monsters wore faces I thought were mine.
Each breath was a burden, a war I endured,
A wound in my chest that could never be cured.
The nights bled together, the days turned to stone,
And I drowned in a crowd where I felt so alone.
The mirror betrayed me with every glance,
Showing a ghost in a broken trance.
Hope was a whisper too fragile to speak,
And strength was a mountain far out of reach.
But somewhere, a flicker refused to die—
A stubborn little ember beneath the sky.
It hummed in the silence, it burned through the rain,
A light that pulsed softly beneath all the pain.
I found it in music, in words I once wrote,
In the warmth of a hand, or a stranger’s note.
In the breath of the wind, in the cracks of a smile,
In the fight to get up and walk one more mile.
No, healing’s not sudden, and peace isn’t fast,
But I rose from the wreckage and faced my past.
I learned that the darkness is part of the way,
But it doesn't get the final say.
So if you're still falling, just know this is true:
The night isn't endless—it just feels that way to you.
You’re not weak for breaking or begging or crying,
You're a storm still raging, a soul still trying.
Hold on to your ember, guard it with care—
That tiny resistance is proof you’re still there.
And one day, perhaps not today, you’ll rise—
With the dawn in your chest and fire in your eyes.
Because even in pieces, you’re still alive,
And that's more than enough to begin to survive.
So fight, even softly—just breathe, just be—
There is light in this life, and it's waiting for thee.
