Through the Fence

Every night the moonlight glows,

But little pup feels winter’s blows.

Locked outside, he shivers and sighs,

Lonely under the starry skies.

No bed, no warmth, no gentle hand,

Just cold hard ground, and empty land.

He doesn’t bark, he doesn’t cry,

But in his heart, he wonders why.

One day he sniffs, a scent so near,

A world beyond, he starts to peer.

With tiny teeth, he chews a way,

Through the fence where hope might stay.

His nose pops through, his eyes so wide,

Looking for care on the other side.

A wagging tail, a pleading face,

Hoping to find a kinder place.

A kind figure stands, a welcoming sight,

Offering warmth in the pale moonlight.

A gentle hand, a warm embrace,

A new friend found, a safer space.

Though once alone in the cold and night,

Now his world is filled with light.

No longer locked, no longer blue,

All he needed was kindness true.

I really love from the bottom of my heart from the image to the words. My eight-year-old dog when I received her as a birthday present found out as a puppy she would have been drowned or something. She is a mixed breed mainly beagle, Great story.
