World’s delight brings splendor to the Breaking

Day of summer. The whistling wind sends Fields

Of barley gently swishing about the state, Shaking.

The sun quivers as the sweat simply just Yields.

Air conditioning mocks the humid air.

Succumbing to the stroke of melting time,

Persistence continues to be the fair

Eyed woman who cuts through the broken Rhyme.

Take seriously the fun of summer in it’s grace.

The power of the season is to lay

love’s light on the coolness of a face

That ice kisses or in a warm bath stay.

Time is oft’ stabbed by reality’s sword.

Summer knows what’s hot is the written word.
