Through Dark or Light

In Longing's Gentle Grasp

By Hanen MehadbiPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Some say that time will ease the ache

That distance only hearts will make

From what I’ve felt since we’ve been two

I hold with those who long anew

But if the days stretch on too far

I think I’ve seen beneath each star

That missing you, though soft and slight

Can turn the day into the night.

So whether time moves fast or slow

In evening’s calm or morning’s glow

It’s in the soul where longing stays

In gentle dreams or quiet haze

For missing you is more than pain

It’s in the hope to see again

To hold you close, through dark or light

And find my peace within the night.
