A critique. Be nonconformist or die as dull.

There are terrors and frights beyond comprehension

There is the torment buried in the depths of the seas

The blood-thirsty menace hidden in the dark

That feeling of imminent danger, sudden death…

These are the terrors found in what could be

*

And the crucifix carried by he who lives beyond this world

Inconclusive deductions, poisoned ideals, immaculate desires…

Metaphysical death

This is the terror found in what will be

*

But who could tell

Who warned the man who warned humanity

About the things that hide in plain sight?

These are not the enemy…

Oh no

*

The real terror

Unavoidable reality

The terror found in what is

Fleeting dreams

Day-after-day dread

Living death-nessssssss

Mild;

Not dark not bright but gray

M-I-L-D

Conscious existence

The sun rises and sets

And we’re standing still, still standing…

Again and again

Until the most thrilling thing in our lives is death

*

We need the monsters we create for ourselves
