Three words

A full body feeling

Warm chocolate eyes. Sparkling coals in afternoon light.

“I love you” she breathes, a caress with a heavy ‘L.’ Romantic leftover of Spanish trills.

The words roll over my skin, hairs raising, stroking the back of my neck. Icy heat.

Now the hope lays thick on my tongue, sweet and honeyed with expectation.

Her face, so close, a smell indescribable in her ownership of it. Spice, nutmeg, a sea-breeze undertone of excitement.
