Thorns of Yesterday

Love's Crimson Residue

Your absence, a phantom limb, aches with phantom pain,

A searing reminder etched in blood-red stain.

Laughter's ghost lingers, a cruel, echoing jest,

Haunting the chambers where happiness once confessed.

Love's thorns dig deep, their barbs laced with regret,

Poisoning memories, leaving shadows I can't forget.

Each echo of your touch, a searing ember's kiss,

Leaving wounds that fester, beneath this hollow abyss.

Will these scars ever fade, will the thorns ever recede?

Can my heart learn to blossom, where love's promise bled?

Or will forever wander, lost in this desolate maze,

Forever marked by the crimson residue of yesterday's daze?
