This tattoo did not bleed; it just was.

It became a part of my body that creased my whole life force into a single line

Making every movement I make

Into a poem.

I’m forever grateful for this etching in my story, because I’m in charge of this:

My story.

My poem did not bleed; it grew from a thousand moments that made me feel alive.

My heart did not break from the loss, the pain, the grief.

It just was.

This tattoo did not bleed; it flared, flowered, blew up, dreamed and dreaded.

This poem is me; and I know that this tattoo is a part of me. I did not break, I did not fall.
