This Is

A safe place for her to heal

She sat with a grin on her face

This kind of emotion could not be replaced

Once again, she was her, just as before

Not a feeling, a dream, or something of a blur

On the right track, although, so many years late

She could only smile knowing this was her fate

To stop putting others before all else

It's not like she didn't care

That was her biggest curse

She just wasn't gonna let her feelings put her in the back of a hearse

What was the worst that could happen

Other's would talk??

Her life was filled with the sounds of other's footsteps as they walked

Sadness was no longer something she felt

Years of nothing left those as emotional welts

Now she wears a patch to protect herself

Ready for what's next...

All without fear

No matter what they say...

This is finally her year!
