This is my Millennial Battle Cry
The Nowhere Generation
Let me be the battle cry for the millennial generations
Take all yours on me
Lazy, self-obsessed, over-educated generation stereotypes
I am all those things
I got a biodegree on my shelf
Masters Degree over there
Got no PhD, got no time for that
So I picked up a college diploma instead
I was taught that I could be somebody
That I could change the world
I can barely get changed and dressed in the morning
But hey
Get an education, get a good old job they say
Nah-uh, I am gonna do things my way
So now we drown ourselves
In videogames and dungeons and dragons
Pretending our lives are what they are not
Because feminism and women’s studies laid our minds to rot
Our economy is doomed and jobs just demand more and more of us
I just can’t do the thirty years and then retire thing
I want to live for myself always now
Can’t keep a job they say
But I can sure write a mean essay!

Every day we run into countless strangers. People we will likely never know and are unlikely to see again. How do you know that when you get into the car and drive to work you are not going to get hit by someone running a red light? We could say it is because there are traffic laws and there are consequences for breaking them. When we get into our cars, we believe that other people accept these laws and that they are going to abide by them. They likely would want to get home safely as well. While at work you ask a co-worker whom you are not related to, know nothing about their personal life and have no relationship with outside of work to help you. Your co-worker will help you; however, because they believe that you would help them in a similar situation. You both believe that you work for the company and will receive a paycheck from the company. It is because we believe that cooperating with one another furthers us both in some way that we can cooperate.

What Happens To Your Brain When You Stop Multitasking
Digital technology is the culprit that is causing us to doom scroll when tired, disengaged and unmotivated with the content that motivated you to log onto your device to consume in the first place. That is only the beginning. In the modern workplace (and even when filing cabinets were around, I confirmed this with my adopted parents to get my facts right); reading files while you are supposed to be present to the caller on the other end of the phone line is another classic example of multitasking that causes your brain (although adaptable and intelligent) to lose focus and concentration.
