I will not be dictated by verbal

shackles of a spineless dominator.

The rain that cycles through spring to

winter will not break this cinnamon spirit.

*

I am too deserving to preserve my dreams,

my freedom and choices from the knitted scarves

to maple syrup or caramel latte?

*

The one who deserves me will walk with me.

They will not brand me a traitor for disobeying them.

I am not ready to hibernate.

*

I don't care about myself enough.

I want to watch squirrels while drinking

hot chocolate and reclaim the zen I lost

when my pumpkin heart rotted away.
