Thinks Too Much

listen to their heart

Their neediness isn’t weakness,

It’s the quiet thrum of a heart that loves too deeply,

A heart that fears being too much,

Fears that every word, every thought, every emotion

Might overwhelm the very people they hold dear.

And yet, no one is more exhausted by their racing mind than they are.

The thoughts swirl,

Non-stop,

Each one chasing the other -

“What if this isn’t enough?

What if I’m not enough?”

“What if they leave?

What if I push them away?”

“What if I mess this up, again?”

And so, they lie awake at night,

Tossing and turning,

With the weight of every word they’ve ever spoken,

Every glance,

Every silence,

The spaces in-between,

Haunted by the things they can’t say,

The fears they can’t shake.

They wish they could turn off the noise,

But it’s always there,

Whispering, shouting,

A relentless tide that never lets them rest.

They long for quiet -

For a single moment where the questions stop,

Where their heart doesn’t ache with every doubt,

Every uncertainty.

But that peace never comes easily,

Slipping away like sand through their fingers,

Always just out of reach.

But in that constant whir of thoughts and fears,

There is something beautiful -

A warmth that runs so deep,

So wide,

It fills the corners of their soul.

The same mind that fears,

That overanalyzes,

Is the same mind that loves with an intensity that can’t be measured,

A love that doesn’t know how to be anything but all in.

They love fiercely,

Carefully,

With the same vigilance that comes from knowing

How easily a heart can break,

How quickly trust can shatter.

They know the pain of feeling exposed,

Of being vulnerable in a world that sometimes feels so cold,

And so, they guard your heart like it’s their own.

They tread softly,

Gently,

Because they understand the weight of love

In ways words can’t fully explain.

If you’re with them,

You may sometimes feel their hesitation,

Their uncertainty,

The way they second-guess their words

And question their actions.

They are not unsure of their feelings for you -

They feel everything so deeply that it overwhelms them.

They are not afraid of love,

But afraid of losing it,

Afraid of giving too much of themselves

And not receiving the same in return.

They fear the smallest things -

The pauses between your texts,

The way you look when you’re lost in thought.

They wonder if they’ve done something wrong,

If you’re slipping away,

Even when you’re right there beside them.

They’re always thinking,

Always wondering,

Always asking themselves questions

That no one else would even think to ask.

But please, understand this:

It’s not about you.

It’s never been about you.

It’s about their heart,

Their love,

Their fear of not being enough.

It’s about the quiet ache of wanting to be loved,

To be accepted,

Exactly as they are -

Imperfect, vulnerable,

Loud in their thoughts,

But soft in their heart.

And in all of this, there is a quiet grace.

Because when they love, they love with everything.

They love with their whole being,

With every ounce of energy they have,

And even when their mind is in chaos,

Their heart remains steady.

They will fight for you,

Not in the way you might expect,

But in the quiet ways they show up,

In the small gestures that mean everything.

They will listen,

They will reassure you,

They will give you their time,

Their energy,

Their love,

Even when their own heart is full of doubt,

Because that’s how deeply they care.

But they also need something -

They need patience,

They need time to quiet the storm inside their mind.

They need you to show them that you’re not going anywhere,

That you’re there,

Even when their thoughts get tangled and messy,

Even when their fears start to overwhelm them,

Even when they can’t always express what they’re feeling.

They need to hear your voice,

To feel your touch,

To be reassured in ways that might seem unnecessary to you -

But to them, they are everything.

A lifeline.

It’s not that they don’t trust you,

It’s that they don’t trust the doubts in their own mind.

They don’t trust the stories they tell themselves,

The ones that say they’re not enough,

The ones that whisper that maybe, just maybe,

You’ll leave them behind.

But every time you reassure them,

Every time you show them that your love is steady,

That your heart is open,

They begin to believe -

Not in the fear,

But in the love that surrounds them.

And slowly,

They learn to let go of the

“what ifs”

And embrace the certainty of you.

Behind every overthinking mind,

Is a heart that only wants to be understood.

A heart that longs to be seen for all its complexities -

The good,

The bad,

The messy,

The beautiful.

They don’t need perfection,

They don’t need answers to every question,

They just need to feel safe,

Safe in your warmth,

Safe in your presence,

Safe enough to lay their heart bare

And trust that you’ll hold it with tenderness.

They need to know that they’re loved,

Even in the moments when their thoughts go wild,

Even in the spaces where they can’t quite find the words.

When they finally feel safe,

When they finally trust you,

You’ll see that their love is pure,

Untainted by doubt,

Clear as the most peaceful sea.

Their heart will bloom,

Unfolding like a flower,

Revealing the depth of a love that’s been waiting -

Waiting for the right hands to hold it,

Waiting for the right soul to love it back.

And in that,

You will find the truest kind of connection,

The kind that is built not on perfect moments,

But on honest ones.

The kind that isn’t afraid of the silence,

Or the loud thoughts,

Or the moments when the world feels like too much.

You’ll realize that their heart,

Though sometimes guarded,

Is one of the most beautiful hearts you’ll ever know -

Not because it is without flaws,

But because it has learned to love despite them.

It has learned to trust,

To open up,

To give,

And to believe,

That this was meant to be:)
