Thinking of You
Take my words and do what you will

What shakes me to the bone
Is that the poetry in my blood –
Dripping from my heart to page,
Filled with echoes of the love
You’ve left etched into my soul –
If it didn’t bear my name
Or the memories of us,
You’d see those words and smile
And send them to another
Who touches your heart in places
Where you never let me in.
Because I ache for you,
And you burn for her,
And what good are letters to the sea
When you have fire in your hands?
