Things to be Appreciated

a Thank You from the Mind & Soul

By MoePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

-covering a hydro flask with stickers

-street light glistening over broken glass in the middle of the night

-the old beater car you just can’t rid of

-ranch dressing from a restaurant

-comparing the friend group to “That 70’s Show”

-Snapchat stories posted by different people but all are of the same sunset from their point of view

-you and another saying the same thing at the same time, or having the same thought

-calling an elbow, a “weenus”

-waking up from what was supposed to be a nap, but now it’s 8 o’clock at night

-forgiving easily, don’t you ever forget it though

-overcast nights, cold wind, and the moon peaking through the clouds

-your first time seeing a shooting star

-corny infomercials that air during the wee hours of the night

-plugging your nose and clenching your eyes shut when you jump into water

-bagels and cream cheese

-drinking iced coffee year round

-tiny rocks getting stuck in your shoe

-lady bugs

-scissors said as “skizzors” and pizza as “peekza”

-dancing and singing around the house while no one else is home

-waiting for the “right” temperature of water to run through the shower

-that favorite pair of shoes

-left handed people

-pouring a bowl of cereal and discovering you’re out of milk

-missing someone

-friends in walkable distance

-catching something in a song that you didn’t notice before

-driving just to drive, no true destination

-fighting over pineapples belonging on pizza and whether water is wet or not

-standing on the top of a parking garage, viewing the cityscape

-a frosted mug for your beer

-watching planes fly overhead

-people who’s favorite flavor is banana

-scrunching your nose

-mirror pep talks

-keeping your Christmas tree up through March

-smelling your deodorant before you put it on

-you
