Things around the sun

Colour my mind

By Jimi OlaniyanPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I sometimes wonder if we all view colours the identically

filters got me thinking someone out there sees colour distinctively

Just imagine waking up in a different body and seeing every colour differently

That would be a whole new writing entirely

Notwithstanding what we may perceive colour as

The important thing is the associated feeling it has.

Open your eyes! It is time to see

The deep blue that make up the vast sea

The red furious fiery flame that recount stories told

To the yellow that makes up the priceless gold

Now close your eyes let’s begin to see

Look at the calm blue flowing peacefully with the raging red.

The bright yellow with the perennial green.

Forgive me if my feelings are palpable

I am confused, mesmerized and agitated!

If the basic colours could glide along with their differences,

why is it difficult for us to do the same

You see the colour pink, we see euphoric freedom

You see the colour red, we feel the life in it

You see the colour orange, we’ve been healed by it

You see yellow, we feel the gentle sunlight

You see green, we connect to Mother Earth

You see turquoise, We feel unexplainable magic

You see indigo, we see perfect harmony

And the violet fills the vials of my spirit
