They say it’s a mans job

Really

By Chanelle OwensPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Really

So if I work a maintenance job and constantly get looks From the assuming no courage judgement crooks

Because office jobs can simply bore me

Of doing housekeeping when that’s nothing I applied for will simply uproar me

They feel a woman place is behind a desk or doing work they consider suitable for a woman

But I hum to positivity guitar and keep strumming

I choose to keep proving them so wrong

Because woman with socket wrenches tools don’t simply belong

Well I do belong and I’m not like nobody else

You won’t categorize me and put me on a shelf

You won’t give me a punch of a qualifying test to see how I handle a tool

Prove you wrong and have you standing there like a fool

Not all women are created equal

Just like all weapons don’t have to shoot exactly the same to make it lethal

But who am I to drive make a difference women who demand respect

Are still being disrespected even now when I type this sentence.

Stand up for what you believe in

Prove them wrong show them that you made your right choice and right here you belong
