They Did Not Come in Peace

You ask us what we dare try to describe ?

I’ll tell you, it’s the evil alien tribe.

Not in fiction, not a film, not a dream

they came like static, sharp and mean.

They didn’t shine. They didn’t float.

No silver suits, no classic quotes.

Just eyes too dry and teeth too flat,

and voices like a deadly rat.

They walked like thoughts,

through walls, through locks,

rewrote the sky, then bent the clocks.

They smiled like sin. They smelled like ash.

They left behind a kind of rash.

We shot. We screamed. We prayed. We ran.

They didn’t care. They had no plan.

They didn’t rule. They didn’t kill.

They hollowed us out with a kind of chill.

Now everything warm feels slightly wrong.

Now every laugh sounds like a gong.

You want a tale? Here’s the vibe:

we lost the war, but stayed alive.

They retreated back to the sky.

We have no idea why.

Maybe they wanted just to tease

what will come one day in a summer breeze.

This was to show us there’s life up there.

They left us on slow boil, they didn’t care.

All I know is they one day will return

and Mother Earth the aliens surely will burn.
