These are the moments.

Aiyana Rosel

Do you remember when you still believed in miracles,

When you had no baggage weighing you down,

When your heart was open,

Your mind curious,

You knew you were enough,

And every person was a potential friend,

Have we become so lost in the darkness that we forgot how it is to be weightless,

To see ourselves as sacred,

To laugh until we cry,

Dance for joy,

To see the best in everyone around us,

Not focusing just on their flaws, but helping them to see their strength,

As we regain our confidence,

Having the courage to trust,

What if we could come back to that childlike sense of wonder,

What if we knew that we were enough,

What would we do if we knew we couldn't fail,

What would we tell those we care about if we weren't afraid of rejection,

How would we live our lives if we knew we were whole already,

What would we share from the depths of our soul,

What is our message to light up the world,

There is so much pain, so much suffering and corruption, that at times I can barely take it,

And then I remember the strength of humanity,

The beauty of nature blossoming into life,

The sweetness of pure innocence,

The acts of kindness that restore my faith in us, that we are not yet completely lost,

And I am not willing to give up, in the rememberance that every sweet song, every laugh, every kind word,

Every hug and kiss good night, every garden that is nurtured into life,

It all counts, it all matters,

And its all turning the tables,

Lighting up the world,

Turning this world into the paradise it was created to be,

The little moments of love that become our heaven,

Our refuge,

This is what its all about,

These are the moments that really matter.
