There's Nothing on TV, So...

An old poem I once forgot...

So I guess we’ll have to talk to each other

and think about what we

haven’t said

in such a long time.

*

Maybe we can listen to the radio

(nothing to see there).

We can switch frequencies

and see what is in the air.

*

Do you want to talk,

or read what’s in the news?

Do we need to write it down

and hope that we see something unsaid?

*

There’s nothing on TV

and we can’t stand the radio

playing and fading,

So we’ll talk and get our words

out and in our heads

(just like a real conversation;

just like ourselves again).

Truth?

You could pair this with the Springsteen song or the Groucho Marx quote, excellent thoughts

Well-wrought! The conversation between the light and shadow self can reward us with insights that bloom between self and other.

In this day and age the art of conversation is fading away. Yet we still desire to be with someone.

  • Heaven forbid it comes to that. Hand me the remote!
