Them, You or Me?

A revolving struggle

By Le'Jon Gonzalez Published 4 years ago 1 min read

Wake to walk tall

speaking a high standard

said from them, you or me

gray raindrops for all

chin up to carry floppy limbs wanting to dismember

ring between both ears then suddenly silent

called it peace and sealed it off with a prayer

displayed a king of hearts but some card tricks appeared

thinking the quiet would become part of my diet

slowly discovering a built-in scene

trying to see me as they see me

mirror conversation, is that you?

switching up the rhythm over tea

hot sips pinch yet the worst hasn't come

every intricacy reviewed over wine

not seeing the filter centered my design

they say sling power to your slang

so I embodied a laugh with a condescending tone

that was a bust then they say spit without regret

words ran shoeless making me look clueless

artist, accountants, and architects wonder too

rushing extravert or touchless introvert

violent whispers create new impossibilities

oceanic depth is the feeling and no sunset breeze

detrimental dynamic split in three.

sad poetry
