Their Heartbeat

This overwhelming emotion,

Appearing once they're not distracted,

Consuming their thoughts,

Feeding fables of darkness and fairytales,

Enlightening what's real and fake,

Overpowering their life,

Justifying reasons to end their life.

Begging for freedom,

Despite their circumstances,

Envisioning their trauma,

Trying to validate all of the invalidations presumed.

Every beginning is an ending,

Every ending is a beginning,

The truth of life lies in the darkest cave,

Shading the tunnel of demons,

Framing the chaos and the nightmares,

For they can't take it.

They live,

They die,

Every day,

Every moment,

Every hour,

Every time they choose to take chances.

They won't get it,

They can't.

Devils and demons intruding their headspace,

Offering heaven and hell,

Providing comfort and destruction,

Proving them right and wrong in myriad ways.

The cuts,

The bruises,

End after end of pain and torture,

Grabbing hold to their heartbeat,

*Dup...dup...dup.......

It ends.

They looked at the world through a broken lens,

A broken lens which was made of sand,

The sand that was washed away by the ocean,

The ocean which drowned them,

No compromising,

Only misery.

The thunder rumbles,

The lightning strikes,

The heart beat,

The cut bleeds,

The mind races,

Through an infinite of shadow.

Shadows that grew deeper,

Six feet underground.

The heart continues to beat...
