The Yearning for Freedom

Freedom

By Mutahir AhsanPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Oh, the desire for freedom, a flame that burns,

A yearning for liberty, a wish that turns,

From political and social freedom to the imagination's call,

Freedom, the ultimate prize, desired by all.

For some, it's a cry for political power,

A need to be heard, a hope to tower,

A chance to be free, to speak their mind,

To break the chains of oppression that bind.

For others, it's a quest for social justice,

A hunger for equality, a cause to trust,

A yearning to be seen, to be treated fair,

To have the same rights as others, to breathe the same air.

And then, there's the freedom of the imagination,

A realm of endless possibilities, an open invitation,

A chance to dream, to create, to explore,

A sanctuary, a solace, forevermore.

For some, it's a yearning to travel the world,

To see new places, to break free, to unfurl,

For others, it's a need to express their art,

To write, to paint, to sing, to impart.

Oh, the desire for freedom, it's a force to behold,

A hope that never dies, a story to be told,

For freedom, the ultimate prize, desired by all,

A yearning to break free, to answer its call.
