The Writer's Fire
Prompt: And So It Begins

I received this online book from my husband for Christmas. I am going to try to use it daily if something sparks. Today's prompt was "And So It Begins"- write a poem about the orgin of something, person, relationship.
****
And so it begins,
one ember of thought,
coaxed into fiery flames
of words and phrases,
tongues of golden apricot light
dancing along the burning logs
like pen to paper.
**
Memorized by each spark,
anticipating blooms
like crimson roses in spring.
Heart beats in rapid rhythms,
fueled by the playful energy
of just one more thought,
escalating into a exquisite
inferno of a anecdote or poem.
***
Yes, writing is like
the building of a fire,
and when the flame dies down,
the coppery embers stay alight,
awaiting the moment,
when pen awakens the fire once more.

Your poem is a wonderful depiction of the origin and evolution of creative thoughts. Thank you for sharing such an inspiring piece.
Whoaaaa this was so powerful! Loved it!
Very nice indeed. Can I ask where do you find your images? Do you make them yourself or where do they come from. They are always great.
Those embers keep smoldering sometimes and keep me awake or disturb my much needed sleep.😂😂
What a perfect poem about writing poetry. Good job.
Very nice
I love the imagery here. Apricot flames! Adorable!
Wonderfully done Daphne, sometimes a prompt is all we need to write such a magnificent piece!👏🏼✨
Lovely written
Lovely poem, full of meaning. Love the prompt. Tell hubby he bought a great gift.
You've written exactly how I feel about writing. Often, I'll open a text page and sit and wait. Before I realize how long the seconds have clicked by, there are a few sentences on the page. And the fire begins. You've stated how many of us feel and it's brilliant.
Love the symbolism in the poem and the vivid picture it creates. And that is a wonderful gift to have. I saw it before and wanted it because I was in a rut. Anyway your poem is amazing.
Wow! This is really packed with meaning. Outstanding work!!!
