The Worst Thing Times Two

Absence of You

The worst thing has happened

And I'm still hanging on

But what's worse than the worst thing?

It's the worst thing times two

Life seems so long now

That I have to live with the absence of you

It's crushing and hopeless and

It still isn't through

It cut me wide open

The day you had to go

And I'm here still bleeding

Still gasping for air and so very alone

I will miss you every moment I live

When I follow you into the dark I'll be looking only for you

I'll be waiting to finally give

The decades of love that had nowhere to go

Until then, do I dare try again?

Do I dare hope for a love that will stay with me here?

I once barely survived the loss of you

So how could I survive the worst thing times two?
