the worst thing

it always ends in tears

I’m the worst thing that

ever happened to you

you won’t admit it

but it’s true

-

I break your heart

on a whim

tell you I love you

then fall for him

-

whisper words of seduction

that you love to hear

then tell you “no”

while I bite your ear

-

you tell me you love me

and ask me to stay

but even though I want to

I always turn away

-

you pull me in close

to your beating heart and

then I’ll leave and

tear you apart

-

we repeat this cycle

every few years

and no matter what we do

it always ends in tears

-

you’re the worst thing

that ever happened to me

no matter where I go

you’ll never sent me free

-

I’m the worst thing

that ever happened to you

you’ll never admit it

but I know it’s true

love poems
