The world rushes on

See me, someone, see me

By Liz OliverPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Staring blindly into space

Motionless the world I face

No one knows what’s going on

They just keep running on, and on

No one sees me sitting here

No one sees my vacant stare

The world goes on, there’s money to make

Everyone wants a slice of the cake

People, people everywhere

Working, loving, I guess, just living

Young and old, all in the race

Who set this worlds relentless pace

I had to sit, I had to stop

A vacant stare, was all I had

A broken heart that felt so bad

I’d lived, I’d loved

But now they’d gone

They closed the lid,

They wanted rid

A single leaf fell to the ground

It caught my eye without a sound

It broke my stare, it broke my trance

I stood right up, I stretched my arms

Back into the world I ran

At quite a pace

I had no plan

heartbreak
