The World ends with a Whimper

We thought it'd be louder.

Turns out the world ends with a whimper. Go figure. And it's all in whose eyes are seeing what, right? We meme-ify the bombs and whine while people die in sprays of blood and head wounds, and children are scarred, forever scarred by capitalism, by greed, by seeing the sky orange for a few too many days.

We breathe in our toxins, others breathe in tear gas and others still breathe in gun smoke. I breathe in air coming off a man-made bay made to better aid the unpacking of shipping containers that bring us closer to the world without being closer to the world, worldly, a string of pearls, pale innocence, right? Hiding away in our shell right?

We're pretty doomed I think. It's not our fault but it's entirely our fault and our choices were very limited, weren't they? We're compliant but not in agreement, and the world ends with a whimper as we laugh because we don't know what else to do, what else do you do what else do you do what else do you
