The Wooden Dragon

A Celestial Sonnet

By D. J. ReddallPublished 2 years ago 1 min read
An AI Generated Image

The year of the wooden dragon is nigh

Opposing energies will be unleashed:

Noble vitality will multiply

By aged wisdom will prudence be preached

How will we fare, caught in this creature’s coils?

Do celestial forces forge our fates?

Recall how cunning Cassius’ tongue toils

To find fault in us; no star he berates

We should not fear this wooden dragon, then

Nor should we ignore his potent image;

Let the dragon shield our modest garden

And fill our hearts with dauntless, bold courage

Symbols can encourage and inspire

Let them do so, without fearing false fire

Sonnet
