THE WOMAN INSIDE ME
By Quéren Victoria Johnson

In my essence, there is a world of inquiries.
This makes me an abstract theme,
I wonder in my reflections.
Interrogations are posed in and out of me.
The price to pay for the answers is doubt,
but I choose hope and episteme.
But where?
How?
When?
Curiosity is a beautiful gift,
I don't want to keep it empty.
I don't want the simple answers either,
I want to live a life full of surprise.
I don’t want to be given maps or guides,
I don't want to look for lighthouses.
I want to venture out,
Figuring it out as I go.
Even if I lose myself,
I will find myself again.
How I have always done,
Listening to my heart.
I want to feel the sun,
I want to watch the moon,
I want to shower in the rain,
I want to feel happiness,
I want to become resilient,
I want to overcome obstacles
Repeat!
This will bring me true experience.
I will be a refuge in the storm,
I will be a friend to those in need.
I will be the wife of the one that loves me,
I will be the mother of the children coming to me.
The truth is this...
I will simply be a woman,
As I was always meant to be.
