Brown eyes gaze riveted by the woman in the mirror.

.

A sense of marvel beckons her to look closer as if beholding herself for the first time.

.

A smile crosses her lips as she is no longer a child naive to the ways of the world.

.

Remembrances of sorrows, rejection, inadequacy, defeat, like distant memories of another life.

.

Through faith in Christ, inner strength was forged, shaping who she is today;

A woman who perceives her worth,

.

undefined by others' opinions, insecurities, and lack. Casting off untruths, she lives and loves unapologetically, shining brightly, illuminating darkness once around her.

.

She is me, and I am her.

My Early Life

The most challenging period of my life was during my twenties. It was also a period I experienced three significant life-changing events; giving birth to my eldest daughter at twenty-one, accepting Christ as Savior, and meeting my future husband at the age of twenty-nine. I would be remiss not to mention my husband" role in my transformation. I came into the relationship with a lot of baggage, and he helped me unpack each one. He's my number one cheerleader to this day. Through him, God has allowed me to see and feel His love. We have been married for thirty-Two years. Below is a picture celebrating thirty years in November of 2019.
