The Wholesomeness of Friendship Bracelets.
How Important This Memory Was.

I remember...
In the childhood room with posters and pictures
The two of us sat;
A loom kit in our hands.
*
She didn't know
And I didn't know much about her
But I knew how to make a friend
And I knew how to make a bracelet.
*
I told her to choose a color
She said any is fine
Then I told her, "Choose a season,"
She said Summer couldn't be more divine
*
I picked up a white band
And held it in my hand.
Then came yellow, blue, and purple
In an order that was grand.
*
I looped the rubbers around a plastic pattern
Making sure all of them were in place
Then I pressed them down with my pointer finger
The strands moved with grace.
*
I directed carefully
Showing her each swerve and turn
A light that was growing within
Was a friendship that could never burn
*
The final stretch was done
I pulled on each strand
It came out like magic
Each band clinging to each other in a panic
*
I hooked the two opposite ends together
The two becoming one
I became the best teacher
And now the bracelet was done
*
More bracelets were created
In all colors bright
But what really blossomed in the end
Was a friendship so tight

I'll have to take a guess through the absolute nostalgia of this - Loom bands?? I might be crazy, but this is an absolute core memory except my specialty was friendship rings, for those 1/2 proposals (and breakups, oh the drama!) Really loved this, a beautifully sweet, soft tone to it!
