The Well of Shattered Eyes
Take a look inside if you dare

The Well of Shattered Eyes
A circle cut, into the earth.
Its walls are smooth, its depth is blind.
No water shines, no stone is clean.
The well is dark, with shattered eyes.
They stare from cracks, they never close.
They watch the world, yet cannot see.
Their pupils bleed, their sockets burn.
They beg for night, they beg for rest.
A voice is heard, but not from lips.
It rises up, from hollow sight.
It speaks of grief, it speaks of death.
It calls you near, it pulls you down.
And if you fall, the eyes will open.
They’ll drink your sight,
they’ll take your voice.
The well will keep, your endless gaze.
And never close, its shattered eyes.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️

What must be able to see what is there and not there. Good job.
