The weight of words.

……free verse

By Marvelous MichaelPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

You asked for honesty,

so I gave you my truth.

Not the polished kind,

but the raw edges,

the parts of me I keep hidden.

______

And yet, you held it like a weapon,

sharp and unyielding.

You took my pain,

turned it into a liability,

a burden to carry in public view.

_______

But I am not your cautionary tale.

I am not your misplaced judgment.

I am the weight of my words,

and they will not crush me.

They encapsulate my being,

But I wield and control what goes in.
