The weight of the darkness

depression

By Chantal MichalskiPublished 3 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

depression.

it's a weight that's hard to bear,

a darkness that seems to always be there.

Robbing us of our joy,

leaving us feeling like a broken toy.

depression.

it's a battle that's fought within.

a struggle that's hard to begin.

an emptiness that's hard to fill,

a pain that seems too never still.

depression.

it's a heavy cloud.

that follows us around.

it's a maze that's hard to navigate.

a journey that's hard to contemplate.

depression.

it seems like a never-ending fight.

there is no end in sight.

it feels like we are drowning,

the hill that we have to climb is inclining.

depression.

it's not a sign of weakness,

it's a reminder that we are human, and we only seek completeness.

no shame in taking heed,

reach out when were in need.

sad poetry
