The Weight of Silence

Waiting for dawn, in the still of night.

**The Weight of Silence**

In the quiet of the night, I lie awake,

The world outside asleep, but my soul does ache.

A pain so deep, it cuts the air,

An endless ache, no one seems to care.

Each step I take feels heavy, slow,

Like I'm walking through a storm of woe.

The laughter of the world seems far away,

As I fade into shadows, day by day.

Once full of dreams, once full of light,

Now I am lost in this endless fight.

The joy I knew has slipped through my hands,

Like grains of sand in forgotten lands.

The world moves on, so fast, so bright,

While I remain trapped in endless night.

A prisoner of pain of a life once known,

Now all I have is this ache, alone.

I wish for peace, a moment's release,

To silence the storm, to find some peace.

But until then, I'll just hold on tight,

Waiting for dawn, in the still of night.
