The Weight of Silence

The house is still, the echoes gone,

Where laughter danced from dusk till dawn.

Now silence reigns, a heavy shroud,

And memories whisper, lost and bowed.

I walk through rooms, a ghost of me,

Haunted by what used to be.

The weight of absence, a constant ache,

A heart that's broken, and will not break.
