The Weight I Never Show
My broken heart cries me a river

The Weight I Never Show
The rain begins inside my chest,
long before a single tear can fall.
I hold the world upon my shoulders,
while pretending I can carry it all.
There are nights I drown in silence,
where the truth becomes too loud to hide.
My voice goes quiet, my heart breaks open,
and the pain spills out from the inside.
I have given more than I had to give,
just to keep the peace for someone else.
I learned to smile through every storm,
while losing pieces of myself.
Tears are not a sign of weakness,
they are weight the soul releases.
When the clouds can no longer hold,
they break, and the darkness ceases.
I never meant to fall apart,
or let my spirit come undone.
But sorrow comes for every heart,
and mine was never built to run.
So I let the raindrops fall tonight,
until the ache begins to mend.
For even broken hearts will beat,
and someday learn to love again.
