The Way of the Crab

Side-Steppin’ My Problems

By Joke MarfskyPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

The Way of the Crab— Adventuring in zig-zag formation.

We don’t do straight lines here—everything becomes more tangential than that, but by all means, we arrive at the same location. I just take longer to get there.

Another way to put this: is we take the scenic route, the long way around.

Whereas the tortoise and hare elected to finish the race and thus both become the winner and loser due to their effort and use of time. The crab is a no-contest contestant. The crab came to observe. The crab needed access to the track, not to compete, but to learn. To grow. To find a new home.

To create a new life. As a hermit with a longing for closeness. To feel near to someone. To escape the infinite loneliness of living in a glass house.

Sealed shut. Not awaiting some trivial prince or princess to come along and kiss me free. No scavenger come to scour for treasure only to accidentally release me.

A life without privacy of inner deamons; my bad outweighs my good on every scale. Regardless of who is in the driver's seat all that is seen is perceived to be just me. Rendering me and my actions one in the same, while leaving my thoughts and intentions and self-control out of the picture.

Null and void of importance, due to lack of vision, or refusal to see what lies beyond. Reading between the infinity lines.
