The juncos crowd
the railing thick with snow
They ponder have
The chickadees yet fed
The sparrows titter
busy beaks so poised
to find their prize
The cardinals are
a couple blessed
And blue jays herald here
Familiar friends in
iridescent garb
The woodpecker strums his rhythm
in isolation
no need to share
I can walk on
My day fulfilled.

Magical phrases that transport the reader.
Such a peaceful, yet rich portrayal of the natural world! It’s like the birds are little characters in their own right, each with their own purpose.
