The Voice Inside

Inside my mind, a battle rages on,

The critical voice against the kind,

The two sides of me, in constant fight,

As I try to make sense of my life.

The critical voice, it shouts and screams,

Telling me I'm not enough, not what I seem,

It says I'm weak, and I'll never succeed,

And I can't trust the things that I believe.

But the kind voice whispers quietly,

Reminding me of my strengths and abilities,

It says I'm enough, just as I am,

And that my worth does not depend on my plan.

The battle rages on, day and night,

As I try to navigate the inner fight,

And find the courage to trust my voice,

And make the choice to embrace my choice.

For in the power of self-compassion lies,

The ability to find the strength to rise,

Above the noise of the critical voice,

And listen to the kind, loving voice.

So let us learn to listen closely,

To the voice inside that speaks most holy,

And trust ourselves, and our own worth,

As we journey through life and all its worth.
