The Veil Between the Stars
He chased a star that fell too far
shadows stretch on silver wings,
A whisper stirs the slumbering glade
A tale of hearts the stars once made.
Beneath the moon's eternal gaze,
A maiden walked through dreamlike haze.
Her steps were soft, the world held still,
As though the night bent to her will.
She bore a name the wind forgot,
But fate had etched her secret plot
To wait beyond the length of years,
Through battles, fire, and salted tears.
Her lover lost, a phantom flame,
Now wandered realms without a name.
He chased a star that fell too far,
Through broken lands and ancient scar.
She watched the seasons come and go,
The summer’s warmth, the winter’s snow,
Yet still she stood where they had met,
By rivers deep and violet wet.
The trees grew old, the mountains sighed,
And still her vow had not yet died.
She sang to skies in silent plea,
“O time, unchain him back to me.
The gods above took heed at last,
And turned their gaze upon the past.
They bent the threads that time had spun,
And carved a path where none had run.
A storm broke out, the sky turned red,
The stars blinked thrice and softly bled.
Then through the veil of shadowed space,
He stepped anew into her grace.
No age had touched her timeless form,
She stood untouched by wind or storm.
And he—though worn by war and sand
Still knew the feel of her soft hand.
“My heart,” he said, “no forge could break,
Though time did try, and fate did shake.
I wandered far through grief and flame,
But never ceased to speak your name.
She wept not tears, but crystal rain,
That fed the roots of love’s domain.
And from the soil a flower bloomed,
A star reborn where none presumed.
The sky grew still, the earth did breathe,
As if to wrap them in a sheath.
And all the world, in hush, did see
What love can be—eternity.
