A Love Cursed by the Sun

The Vampire’s Dawn

_________________________

Beneath the shroud of endless night,

Where stars are cold and pale,

There walked a soul of darkened blight,

Whose heart defied the tale.

_________________________

For though his skin would burn and sear,

And daylight meant his end,

He longed to feel the sun so near—

To call the dawn his friend.

_________________________

He watched each morning, veiled in shade,

As gold lit up the skies,

And wept for all the joy it made,

Yet banished from his eyes.

_________________________

"O cruel and radiant, burning light,"

He whispered to the air,

"Why must you shine so fiercely bright,

Yet never spare me care?"

_________________________

The sun, in silence, climbed the blue,

Unknowing of his pain,

And bathed the world in honeyed hue—

A love he’d never claim.

_________________________

One dusk, as twilight bled to red,

He stepped beyond his keep,

No fear of death, no tears he shed—

Just longing, raw and deep.

_________________________

The first faint rays began to rise,

A kiss upon his cheek,

His flesh did smoke, yet in his eyes—

A peace none could critique.

_________________________

For in that moment, brief and bright,

He smiled though he burned,

For love is worth the fatal light,

If love is what you’ve earned.

_________________________

Now legends say, when dawn is new,

A shadow lingers near,

A ghost who loved the sun too true—

And still, he waits for her.

The Lost Books - "Libri Perditi"

Run your fingers along the frayed edges of history—here lie suppressed sonnets, banished ballads, love letters sealed by time. Feel the weight of prose too exquisite to survive. These words outlived their authors. Unfold them.
