The Upants are Coming

A Karmic Warning About Getting Your "Cum-Upants"

By James Spencer-BriggsPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

The upants are coming

We told you they would

Despite all our warnings

You still misunderstood

The upants are coming

Usually at night

Emerging from the shadows

Creeping out of sight

The upants are coming

Their footsteps disguised

Like most of their features

Except for their eyes

The upants are coming

They know what you've done

It's pointless to fight them

And futile to run

The upants are coming

It always ends this way

A debt is not forgotten

You've always got to pay

The upants are coming

And they will decide

If you've spoken the truth

Or whether you've lied

The upants are coming

Nowhere is safe

Nothing can protect you

Not even your faith

The upants are coming to take what is owed

You know how you got here

That fork in the road?

The upants are coming

When the decision was yours

You made the choice

You composed the score

The upants are coming

And now your selfish symphony

Will signal your demise

With an ascending cacophony

Of wails and cries

The upants are coming

Confusing and loud

Paranoid voices

An enveloping shroud

The upants are coming

Your sanity, your life

Disappearing before you

The result of your strife

The upants are coming

To balance the scales

Take heed of my words

And remember this tale

The upants are coming

They catch up with everyone

Young or old

Rich or poor

In sadness or in fun

The upants are coming

So choose wisely your role

Before the end of your story

they may dine upon your soul.

The upants are coming

Terrifying and small

Through even the smallest space

They manage to skulk and crawl

The upants are coming

Maybe tonight

Listen for them in the darkness

As you turn out the light.
