The Unseen Hurt of Being the Eldest
A cry for fairness

It's something that's always been in our hearts.
All of our lives, from babies to adults.
I have to tell you first that
We have 2 brothers in our family.
I am the firstborn and have 1 sibling (younger).
"When I was a child, when our younger sibling did something.
I asked my mum for something...my mother gave it to me.
But when it was my turn for the ''Can I have?''…
I never got anything.
There was this excuse and that.
I used to think positively...
Which said, "I'm the older sib, I have to defer to my younger sib first."
But when such an accident repeated itself,
Until then
I began again to get the sense that I wasn't being treated fairly.
I tried to argue with reason,
But the answer I got was
"I have no reason."
Although you had told me so with reason,
I got an answer that I felt
Was not fair at all.
At that time, I felt
I hated my younger sibling.
The more I thought about it,
Even as rational as I was,
The adults never listened.
Until now that I've grown up...it's always been like this.
Now, I feel I can't take it anymore.
I feel bad about my feelings.
There's a question I ask myself a lot
After all, are we not your children too?
Why has your mother never shareed''
''Now, even though I'm all grown up and can make my own money,
I feel sad. It's almost a feeling that’s just completely in my heart.
If anyone has children,
We want to make all children equal.
Whether we are the oldest or the youngest.
Every child has feelings.
This happens a lot.
A child, that's a traumatic thing to have happen.
If I ever have kids, I only want one. ❤️

Wow awesome
True that. Most of us having siblings have experienced these feelings some or the other time in life while growing up. @Rohitha Lanka
