Objectively, most people associate cost with the financial money they need to exchange in order to obtain something, which is true. Just financially, cost isn’t just how much money has to leave your cash app or bank account to obtain that new sweater, car, or apartment, but also what you had to do for it. The definition of cost is: the effort, loss, or sacrifice necessary to achieve or obtain something. This isn’t just limited to money, so we as humans must really weigh out all costs before making that “purchase." How much sleep did you have to lose? How much energy did you have to put out? How much wear and tear was put on your mental and spiritual well-being? Your emotions don’t just look at that price point, because the reality is that something that only costs $10.00 financially can cost 10 times more in other aspects of your life, and that is the total price you paid for that object, not just the $10.00. Having this awareness will not only change what you think you can afford, it changes your life. Just because you have the money for it does not mean you can afford it.
