The Treasures Of Pretend

And Other Oddities

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Bones and crosses

Luck and fate

Wins and losses

Love and hate

Round the block

And back again

Running clocks

Fences to mend

Time to kill

And changes made

Windowsills

And summer shade

All dressed up

In hand me downs

Keep the corrupt

In lost and found

A glass half full

Spilt on the ground

Midnights last call

Drinks all around

What once was up

Has now come down

Shooting stars

Worn as a crown

The sun by day

The moon at night

A grand display

Of sheer delight

Nature's palette

And grand design

A sly jack rabbit

Polished and shined

Bringing to an end

This rare adventure

Playing pretend

Creating treasures

Totally agree with RM Stockton this could be a song. When I read there was a singsong attitude to it.

I love this, Kelli. It should be put to a tune. Whimsical and fun!
