The Transition

Life was beautiful

I had everything going right

Then you came

And I was at a loss of what to do

You showed me things

I did not even know about myself

So I gave you me

It was all I had or knew how to give

~And you threw me away....

Here I am

Sitting in this dark place alone

With great care

I pick up the shattered pieces of me

Fitting them back together

I find a new person grown strong

So it seems

That all has not been lost forever

~I am me still... And life is beautiful again
