There is More Than One Path

"The Trail"

Life's long, beautiful trail unending,

Young or old, we will each walk down it,

Many worry of its way bending,

Others want only to rest, to just sit.

For each, this path has a beginning,

All tread upon it, never the same,

Some listen close, hear the wind blowing,

Searching for the first pathfinder's name.

Winding through life, to glorious peaks,

This route goes through bramble and thicket,

On this journey, there are souls too meek,

Finding there no joy, seek to wreck it.

Through trial and toil, passes ages,

Life's trail urges all ever onward,

Grace found there, so too the challenges,

What would the trip be if it weren't hard?

Paved with boulders, difficult glory,

Bogs of thick mud and meadows green,

Rough, tough adventures become a story,

A tale told well, amazing things seen!

From start to finish, it is your own!

One's own loving heart, no better guide.

Bright spirit, more than mere flesh and bone,

Trail worn soul - no regrets! - walked with pride.
