The blue and red shook me straight
Broke my gaze and brought my brows together
Tightly
Shit
The road was narrow one lane each way
Still he flipped the siren and cursing I pulled to the curb
Closely
Parked behind my mirror showed his bike
Showed his posture and his pose
Aggressive
My day was going to be ruined I felt it
A deep breath didn’t calm my anger
Bubble
More then one they poured through my open window
They cascaded onto the dash with abandon
Pop
Pop
Pop
License and registration I barely paid attention
My gaze beyond the uniform to the school just there
Children
Small and loud and lining the fence
Shouting, waving no more than toddlers
Watching
Their teacher held a blue whale a machine
Spouting forth gallons of prismed spheres
Everywhere
He walked away to finalize my failure as a driver
And I heard the toddlers cheer and scream
Hero
More bubbles crashed into my faux leather seat
Contrasting my anger with small pop pop pops
Ridiculous
A small wave from their idol sent babies a tumbling
You have a nice day sir and lay off that gas
Ok
A moment to regain myself and my thoughts
To roll up the window before more bubbles went
Pop
About the Creator
Kavi Warrick
There's a moment where all the words try to come out all at once, and it's either beautifully chaotic or decidedly blank.
